boy advice.... help

so, theres this boy, lets call him matt.
So i met Matt at school, and when i met him i was dating this boy lets call him Jake. and one day Matt messaged me on FB and gave me his number. so i texted him. that weekend, Matt and I hung out at his house.
almost every weekend, i went and hung out with Matt. and his friends who i also am friends with. he took me camping with his family about two weekends ago.
every since then hes been so distant. like he told me he really likes me and he wants to get together but he has trust issues because he always rushes things. which is fine with me because i got hurt when i was dating Jake.
both of our phones got broken recently, so FB is our only way of communicating. bur we havent hung out since we got back from camping.
i asked him if he wanted to hang out this weekend coming up, and all he responded with was 'i have to see what im doing'
usually when i ask to hang out hes all excited.
i dunno if hes trying to push me away and be gental about it or if he just wants time with his friends.
i need advice. i want to fix this because i really like him and i want him to be my boyfriend, but i dont know if thats what he wants anymore. i cant read minds so i need advice. help please!!!
